Rolls-Royce says it will blacklist customers selling Specter EVs

It’s one strike and you’re out at Rolls-Royce. The ultraluxury brand says anyone caught reselling its first electric vehicle, the Specter, for profit will be banned for life. “They’re going immediately on a blacklist and this is it — you will never ever have the chance to acquire again,” Rolls-Royce CEO Torsten Müller-Ötvös told Car Dealers magazines. Deliveries of the Specter, which costs about £350,000 ($450,000) and has a 320-mile driving range, are scheduled to start in the fourth quarter of 2023. The latest numbers on the automotive microchip shortage

There are more signs that the microchip shortage is easing, even as automakers cut 82,573 vehicles from production plans worldwide last week, according to the latest estimates from AutoForecast Solutions. North American factories lost 38,677 vehicles because of a lack of semiconductors last week, in addition to 21,700 cut from assembly plants in China and 22,196 removed from production schedules elsewhere in the Asia-Pacific region. The JD Power study found public charging satisfaction was the highest among Tesla vehicle owners. On a 1,000-point scale, Tesla scored 734. The average for all other manufacturers was 558. The Department of Energy says Tesla has almost 20,000 ports in its Supercharger network. The list, released Monday by sibling publication Automotive News in Detroit, tracks sales to automakers from the previous year.
