Growing Randy Marion Automotive Group bought four North Carolina dealerships in two separate first-quarter transactions to expand its portfolio in the state. Randy Marion Automotive in Mooresville, NC, on March 6 bought Gerry Wood Dodge of Salisbury, which also sells Chrysler, Jeep and Ram vehicles; Gerry Wood Honda; and Gerry Wood Kia from Gerry Wood, according to Randy Marion Automotive COO DJ Heller. The dealerships, all in Salisbury, NC, were renamed Randy Marion Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep-Ram of Salisbury, Randy Marion Honda and Randy Marion Kia. Salisbury is northeast of Charlotte. Rivian executive returns to McLaren

Rivian Automotive’s chief engineer, Charles Sanderson, has left the US EV startup for McLaren, his previous employer, McLaren said in a news release. Sanderson, who joined Rivian nearly five years ago to develop its R1 vehicle platform, returns to supercar maker McLaren in the role of chief technical officer, McLaren said earlier this week. “Mr. Sanderson will now spearhead McLaren Automotive’s new technology roadmap and product innovation strategy,” McLaren said. Carvana settles a long-running regulatory dispute with Illinois

An Illinois regulatory official said Tuesday the state has agreed to settle a long-running regulatory dispute with Carvana Co. Per the settlement agreement, Carvana can continue to operate in the state, Illinois Secretary of State Alexi Giannoulias said in a Tuesday video announcement. The retailer admitted to violating Illinois law and agreed to abide by new restrictions, according to a news release from his office. The settlement allows the secretary of state’s office to suspend and revoke Carvana’s dealer license again if it fails to comply with either the agreement or state laws, according to the agency.
