The 2027 Subaru Impreza now offers a 180-horsepower engine as standard equipment on its base model, paired with a price cut that makes it the most affordable all-wheel-drive compact car on the market. The entry-level trim starts at $25,840, while the RS trim remains unchanged at $30,740.
The company has extended the 2.5-liter boxer engine, previously exclusive to the RS, to the base model, replacing the 152-horsepower 2.0-liter unit. All 2027 Imprezas retain standard all-wheel drive and a continuously variable automatic transmission. Dealers will begin receiving the new models later this year.
Exterior and interior updates are minimal. The base model keeps 17-inch wheels and a mostly unchanged cabin, with minor upgrades like refined stitching on the center console and door panels.
Standard features include cloth seats, dual-zone climate control, dual 7.0-inch touchscreens with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and advanced safety tech such as adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning, and lane-keeping assist.

The RS trim adds 18-inch wheels, fog lights, a Crystal Black Silica roof spoiler, and black cloth seats with front heating. It also upgrades the infotainment display to an 11.6-inch touchscreen and includes a wireless charging pad.
Optional upgrades for the RS include a $2,070 power sunroof, a 10-way adjustable driver’s seat, and a 10-speaker Harman Kardon stereo.
Available paint options now include Ignition Red, joining existing choices like Crystal White Pearl, Magnetite Gray Metallic, and Sapphire Blue Pearl. Citron Yellow Pearl remains available for an additional $395.
