Belfor UK Partners Novuna for Fleet Overhaul

Belfor UK partners with Novuna to overhaul its fleet, a move aimed at modernising the restoration firm’s vehicle base and improving response times to emergencies across the country.

Novuna takes charge of legacy fleet

The agreement places Novuna Vehicle Solutions in charge of Belfor’s existing fleet, which includes 239 light commercial vehicles and 15 company cars. Of those, 84 vans are slated for replacement this year.

Novuna will manage the transition, providing a full service that covers vehicle acquisition, conversion and ongoing maintenance. The company’s Trowbridge site will host an engagement day where Belfor staff can inspect a brand‑new batch of converted vans before they are deployed.

Conversions involve collaboration with City West, Maxus Technical and Modul‑System, turning the vans into mobile response units equipped for flood, fire, storm and other incident sites. The vehicles will carry drying equipment, water extraction tools, air filtration units and contamination‑removal gear.

Statements from fleet leaders

Neil Martin, head of fleet at Belfor UK, said, “Our fleet is essential to the work we do every day, helping us reach customers across the UK when they need us most. We appointed Novuna for their operational expertise, culture and clear commitment to understanding our business.” He added that the partnership gives confidence in vehicle availability, cost control and service quality as the fleet modernises.

Jon Lawes, managing director at Novuna Vehicle Solutions, noted, “Belfor UK operates a highly important, operationally vital fleet, supporting customers at some of the most challenging moments they may face. Our role is to ensure their drivers and stakeholders receive the right support, the right vehicles and the right expertise to keep their operations moving.” He highlighted the Trowbridge engagement day as a key part of delivering an “excellent in‑life experience.”

The collaboration reflects a broader trend in the industry where specialist fleet operators are increasingly handling conversion projects for emergency‑service providers. While Belfor’s approach is tailored to its restoration work, similar initiatives have been seen with utility firms upgrading their service vans to carry new technology.

From a practical standpoint, the shift should reduce downtime for technicians, who previously relied on older vehicles that often required more frequent repairs. By standardising the fleet around newer, purpose‑built units, Belfor hopes to streamline logistics and cut operating costs.

One minor hitch in the rollout is the coordination required among multiple conversion partners. The schedule must align with Novuna’s delivery timeline, and any delay could ripple through Belfor’s response capabilities during peak disaster periods.

Overall, the partnership positions Belfor to sustain its rapid‑response reputation while addressing the ageing vehicle issue that many service‑oriented businesses face.

They are confident the new units will perform as expected.
